Ben was born and raised in San Diego, California and came to Christ in 1980 at Calvary Chapel El Cajon. He grew up in the church and spent 11 years as a Local 5 union insulator, and he was ordained as a youth pastor in 2006 at CCEC. In 2010 Ben answered God's call to serve as senior pastor at Calvary Chapel Sydney. Ben is married to Laura and they share two adult sons, Zed and Abel. He enjoys baking, spicy food, games and making regular contributions to his Christian blog at marchforth2oz.blogspot.com.
Joan is the Women's Bible Study leader, a group that has been meeting for over 25 years. Her desire is to study God’s word, to know Him more deeply and pray for each other, the Church, and those we know who need Jesus in their lives.
Ian is serving as worship leader at Calvary Chapel Sydney. He has been in worship ministry since 1996. He is married to Rea Cepe, and they have one son, Ezekiel. Ian loves fellowship and Bible discussion with a good cup of coffee.
Phil is an Elder at Calvary Chapel Sydney and oversees the Junior High (SOLID) ministry. He loves helping young teens grow in their love and trust in Jesus Christ, understand and apply God’s Word, and see how the gospel shapes their everyday life. He’s passionate about creating a welcoming space where students can ask questions and learn and grow. Phil also loves seeing people seek God through His Word for daily strength and wisdom. Phil is married to Ali and they have one son and one mischievous dog. Outside of ministry, Phil enjoys cycling, football (soccer), cooking, and spending time with his church family.
Trudi oversees the young children’s ministry. She has been involved in this area for many years. It is a continued delight and privilege for her to share our Lord with the children.
Bob is an Elder and leads a Bible Study on Wednesday nights. He was born again in Nov 1995 at the age of 28. Bob is married with two adult children, Samuel and Kate. He has enjoyed leading bible studies at home, online, church and work since 1999. After struggling with the grace of God for years, he tries assisting others to avoid the same mistakes he made. His interests are just about all sports of which he grew up playing basketball, soccer and athletics in the US, and learning / playing guitar.
